Hummel. served active duty 3/17/64 6/17/67 Honorable Discharge 6/17/1967 I served with Kilo Company, 3/3 Vietnam 1965-1966, Had a nickname of "" Budda Head"" 3rd Battalion,3rd Marine Division,2nd platoon. Boot Camp Paris Island, South Carolina Then to Camp Lejune North Carolina for Infantry training. Then off to Camp Pendleton,Ca. for additional training. After California, on to Okinawa for jungle warfare training.Trained for three weeks in the rainy jungle. Then off to Vietnam. DaNang and then on to Hill 22. Some of the guys in the outfit were fitted with nicknames mine was Budda Head, others were, wop, Matt, Greasy and clubfoot.
