FRANS DIDO OR FRANCIS DITTO ENLISTED IN THE WINTER OF 1777 FOR THREE YEARS SERVING AS A PRIVATE IN CAPTAIN ROBBS, KOBYS (POSSIBLY MEANT FOR COBES ) AND THEN JACOB STOYS COMPANY. COL. WALTER STEWART, PENNSYLVANIA REGIMENT. HE WINTERED AT VALLEY FORGE, WAS IN THE BATTLE OF MONMOUTH, WAS TAKEN PRISONER AT NEWARK, TAKEN TO NEW YORK, PLACED IN THE " SUGAR HOUSE " AND HELD FOR 3 MONTHS UNTIL HE WAS EXCHANGED AND RETURNED TO THE ARMY. HE WAS DISCHARGED JANUARY 1, 1781
