Senior Airman Ryan J. Matthews' hometown was Roseburg, Oregon. He graduated from Roseburg High School and upon graduation he immediately left to serve his country with the United States Air Force. He was assigned to the 366th Security Force Squadron "Gunslingers" at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. Ryan Very proudly served in the Operation "Enduring Freedom" campaign while deployed to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan as an M240 Convoy Machine Gunner. While there he was instrumental in providing security for over 20,000 coalition combat forces, as well over $200,000,000 in protection level assets.

Ryan enjoyed being with his family and absolutely loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. We are very proud of him and miss him so much.
