MILTON WAS BORN IN LONGVIEW WASHINGTON AND GRADUATED FROM MARK MORRIS HIGH SCHOOL. HE ENTERED THE US ARMY IN 1967 AND DID HIS BASIC TRAINING AT FT. LEWIS WASHINGTON AND WAS THEN SENT TO VIETNAM WHERE HE RECEIVED THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR MERITOIOUS SERVICE IN COMBAT FOR THE PERIODS OF 7 NOVEMBER 1967 TO 6 MAY 1968. HE RECEIVED THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL FOR INJURIES THAT RESULTED IN HIS DEATH ON 6 MAY 1968. HE SERVED WITH THE HEADQUARTERS COMPANY, 4TH BATTALION ( MECHANIZED ) 23 RD INFANTRY, 25TH INFANTRY DIVISION.
