Robert was born in Wichita Falls Texas on Sept. 25,1928. He is the oldest of 4 brothers, all having proudly served in the US Marines.Robert served in the Marine Corps from 1944 to 1975. He served in every rank from Private to Major. He served in World War II, Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. He was highly decorated and received numerous medals and ribbons, including 2 Purple Hearts. Robert was a member of the Military Order of Purple Hearts organization, where he served as Commander for four years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 of Rogers,Arkansas, and the Retired Officers Association. After retiring from the USMC he served as Captain of the Bentonville Police Department from 1977 to 1989. He was a member of the Benton County Sheriffs office , serving in the criminal investigation dept. He was a licensed commercial pilot with a C.F.I. rating. Robert died on November 1st, 2002 at home of natural causes.
