INFANTRY DIVISION AS WELL AS HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS BATTERY 386TH FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION AND RECEIVED THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE IN CONNECTION WITH MILITARY OPERATIONS IN BELGIUM,HOLLAND AND GERMANY FROM 23 OCTOBER 1944 TO 25 APRIL 1945. DURING THIS PERIOD OF COMBAT WITH THE ENEMY, TECHNICIAN ROTHROCK PERFORMED HIS DUTIES AS AIRCRAFT MECHANIC IN A CONSPICUOUSLY MERITORIOUS MANNER. THE EXCELLENCE OF HIS REPAIRS, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE OF THE COMPONENT PARTS IS SHOWN BY HIS RECORD OF NEVER HAVING ONE OF THE PLANES HE HAD SERVICED GROUNDED BY MECHANICAL DIFFICULTIES. HIS SELECTION OF AIRFIELDS, CAMOUFLAGE , AND DISPERSAL OF AIRCRAFT WAS SUPERIOR. THE COURAGE,SKILL AND DEVOTION TO DUTY DISPLAYED BY TECHNICIAN ROTH ROCK CONTRIBUTED MATERIALLY TO THE SUCCESS OF THE AIR LIAISON SECTION, AND HIS ACTIONS ARE IN KEEPING WITH THE FINEST TRADITIONS OF THE AMERICAN SOLDIER.
